The Puget Sound Restoration Fund is a Washingtonian organization that grows kelp forests in laboratories and transports them to oceans, sounds, and lakes. 

The Marine Mammal Center rescues injured sea otters and conducts research on sea otter behavior, social patterns, and habitat. 

The Elakha Alliance is an Oregonian nonprofit dedicated to restoring sea otters to their habitats on the West Coast.
